WLR Stage (Main Stage)

Jerry Fish & The MudBug Club
8pm - 9.15pm

Jerry Fish & The Mudbug Club is an alternative band from Dublin. They formed in 2002 and played their first gig October 2002 in Tower Records on Wicklow Street, Dublin but the real first debut gig was at Whelan's on 18 October 2002. Whelan describes their music as swampadelic and smoozhy with it being noted for its use of brass instruments and jazzy style. They released one album in 2002, which included guests such as Mundy and Damien Rice, winning a Meteor Irish Music Award for Best Country/Roots Artist. They were also nominated for Album of the Year. The album "Be Yourself" has been described as "genius" by music magazines. The band have most recently played the V Festival, Glastonbury, Oxegen festivals as well as their sell out shows at Dublin's Vicar Street and the Olympia, a stage which in the past has seen Lou Reed, Radiohead and REM to name but a few.

Imelda May
9.45pm - 11.15

Imelda May is an Irish female vocalist. She hails from The Liberties area of Dublin. Her most popular and well-known album is called Love Tattoo. She sings and plays the bodhran. She has dominated the Irish album charts for the last 18 months. Her stunning number one, double-platinum debut, "Love Tattoo", has remained in the top 20 for a whole year now, buoyed by hit singles "Johnnys Got a Boom Boom" and "Big Bad Handsome Man" which both attracted massive airplay. Awards have also flooded in for Imelda including 'Rising Star of 2009' by Hello magazine, 'Jazz Artist of 2009' by The Times, and the coveted Meteor for Best Irish Female 09. Imelda also performed to a world-wide TV audience of 100 million at the recent Grammy awards in LA. With her unique fusion of blues, rockabilly, and jazz, Imelda and her incredible band have made a huge impact on the live scene everywhere they have played.

Fighting Spiders
6.30pm - 7.10pm

Fighting Spiders were hatched in 2008 when members from previous Waterford band such as Ilya K, Dae Kim, and Ashley Sheehan & The Mute decided to collaborate. Early gigs took place alongside the likes of Jape, Robotnik and Oppenheimer and due to the instant positive feedback, the band had all the ammo and enthusiasm they needed to complete their infectious debut album, 'Tarantism'. Described as the meeting place between Depeche Mode, They Might Be Giants and Daft Punk, the proposed release of the debut album was unfortunately put on hiatus due to the tragic and untimely passing of a life long friend, the bands keyboard player Jay Barden.

The Bionic Rats
7.30pm - 8.30pm

The Bionic Rats are a seven piece Ska/Reggae band with members from Ireland, Nigeria and Armenia. They write and perform their own material and last year they released their debut album 'Return Of The Bionic Rats'. They were invited to play at the Official Afterparty for The Specials re-union gigs at The Olympia last year, and count Neville Staple as one of their biggest fans. They have also played recent support sets with Madness, Gregory Isaacs and Lee "Scratch" Perry.

Special Brew / Neville Staple
9pm - 10.30pm

Special Brew are a 7 piece Ska Tribute band from Dublin, the lads have built up a loyal following in Waterford through their Electric Avenue appearances. Special Brew contain all the essentials for providing a night of Two Tone madness, (keyboards, brass section, guitar, drums, bass and nutty vocalist). The lads have held down a monthly residency at the famous Late Night @ The Gaiety in Dublin for the best part of a decade now and their set list is guaranteed to get you on the dancefloor.

Neville Staple (DJ Set)
10.45pm - 11.45pm

Neville Staple is best known for his work writing songs and sharing lead vocal duties for The Specials, and as one of the founding members of Fun Boy 3, Neville Staple is credited with changing the face of pop music not once but twice. The Specials are one of the most loved groups of all time due to their association with the Two Tone label and their leading role in the explosion of the UK Ska scene in the late 70's and early 80's. They released 2 legendary albums and a collection of classic singles like Rat Race, Gangsters, Do Nothing, Too Much Too Young, Ghost Town and of course A Message To You Rudy, before breaking up at the height of their fame.

Bolcan
6.30pm - 8pm

Scullion
8.15pm - 9.30pm

In the Summer of 1979 songwriter Sonny Condell (Vocals / Guitar), Greg Boland (Guitar), and Philip King (Vocals / Harmonica) came together to form Scullion. Their debut album was released the following year to much critical acclaim, which generated a huge demand for live performances by the band, including a legendary slot at the Lisdoonvarna Festival. A second album 'Balance and Control' (1981) was produced by one of their heroes, John Martyn, and again sold in large numbers. Another 2 albums 'White Side of Night' and 'Spin' followed in the 80s and they also had a massive airplay hit with "Carol".

Tucan
9.45pm - 10.45pm

Tucan are an instrumental acoustic guitar duo, Donal Gunne and Pearse Feeney from Sligo, who delivered on their promise by releasing one of the best Irish CDs of last year, "Aliquot Strings". Tucan first took their music on the road by spending their summers busking in Europe. Since returning to Ireland the pair have dived full-time into the world of music and to date they have shared the stage with major acts like Rodrigo y Gabriela, Kila, Jose Feliciano, Regina Spektor and Dervish. After a successful summer on the festival circuit last year, including Electric Picnic (where they closed out the event on the Sunday night to an audience of 3,000 in the Body & Soul arena), Tucan won 'Best Musical Group' at the 14th annual Aoife (association of Irish festival events) Awards.

Ceili All Stars
11pm - 12pm

The Ceili Allstars are a fresh and exciting five piece traditional Irish music band from Cork. They evolved from a group of friends playing on the session trail in Cork city in the late nineties. The group have similar tastes and styles of Irish traditional music and originally hail from the Sliabh Luachra area near the Cork-Kerry border. As well as having several regular gigs in some of Corks top venues, they are no strangers to the big stage. Highlights for the group so far have been playing support to Mosaik (featuring members of Planxty) in the Cork Opera House and travelling to Sri Lanka as part of the 2004 St. Patricks Day celebrations in Colombo.
