Tourism Industry Visitor Charter

In recent months, many people intending to travel to Ireland have been hesitating due to the the volcanic ash cloud which has disrupted flights around Europe - closing airports and the cancellation of flights.

While the volcano has eased, we would like to assure intending visitors to Ireland that many B&Bs & Hotels have signed up to a Tourism Industry Visitor Charter around Ireland and also in Tramore. This charter sets out to reassure you that:-

  • Cancellation fees will not apply where intending visitors cannot travel due to 'ash-related' travel disruption;

  • Agreed rates will be adhered to where a visitor must extend their stay as a result of the 'ash-related' air travel disruption;

  • In the spirit of genuine Irish hospitality, we will continue to make every effort and offer key services to guests disposal to facilitate their specific requirements in the event of such travel disruption;

  • We will assist guests in arranging their return journey and liaise with their local tourist office to facilitate individual requirements;

  • We will provide access to regular updated travel information to all guests whose travel arrangements have been temporarily disrupted.

The full charter can be read here.

On Discover Tramore, we have added an extra facility icon that is present on all businesses pages that have signed up for this charter. Just look out for the Visitor Charter Symbol (below).

We hope this charter will reassure intending visitors and reinforce consumer confidence in Irish tourism at this time.
