Tramore Calendar Price Drop

The Discover Tramore tourism group are delighted to announce that the popular Discover Tramore Calendar, which showcases stunning pictures of Tramore and Waterford taken over 2010 by local photographer Gavin Downey, is now on a promotional sale at just €1. With each order, Discover Tramore will also be giving a second calendar complimentary.

The calendar was launched last August and was a huge success with a large number of orders for calendars both nationally and internationally. The calendar, which was professionally designed by Alpha Design, was originally retailed at the original price of just €5.99 in many stores in Tramore and Waterford. The Tramore Hill Challenge - Test your Mettle, man

An exciting new and one of its kind cycle event in Ireland takes on the streets of Tramore on Sunday 29th May. The Tramore Hill Challenge will test rider's skills when they battle with the legendary steep hill of Tramore's Upper Strand Street and Main Street.

It is not just the elite cyclist being targeted, this is an event for all the family: distances will vary per age group and all the kids under 12 will receive a certificate of completion. Adults will race up the whole length of Upper Strand Street & Main street to win the coveted King and Queen of the Hill. There will be a fancy dress race were the most outrageous costume will win a prize on completion of the course. For the serious racer out there they will be a predict your time contest (no bike computers or stop watches allowed).

Drag Queen Mr Pussy Travels To Tramore

FRESH from the plastic surgeon's chair, Mr. Pussy is back with some new frocks, a new venue and positively purring about her new show. Billed as Ireland's most misleading lady, I spent a cosy afternoon with the legendary drag-queen otherwise known as Alan Amsby. We had lunch, sipped Champagne and discussed supermodel's pants, among other things, her fantastic new cabaret show.

Quite literally the original of the species, in Ireland anyway, the vampy Mr. Pussy gave birth to drag in this country, spawning many of today's great nightclub queens - including Miss Panti,Veda and Shirley Temple Bar - and is now called 'the drag mother' within the business.

I hate to use the term 'hey-day', but back in the 1990s Alan's star was probably shining its brightest, as he regularly enjoyed hanging...
